Hi

I am considering the purchase of a Cayenne 4,8 turbo 2008 model, 130.000 km, but have read and heard i.a on youtube that the quality is poor. I.e problems with the v8's coolant plastic pipes under the inlet manifold. In addition a problem with Lokasil sylindar coating failure. The engine runs great now, but as I am not familiar with potential major weaknesses I thought i check with more experienced guys in the forum. This is my kind of a dream car, but would you recommend not to buy this model or have I misunderstood ? Would really appreciate some advice

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

The problems you mentioned are both well known and documented here and on other websites.  Before buying this vehicle, I would suggest you have a pre purchase inspection done by a qualified Porsche specialist; the money spent on the inspection may just be the best investment you make.

Good luck.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes I think you are right about a pre purchase inspection. I was thinking that if the plastic pipes are changed to metal, there should be no risk of cooling leakage, and engine failure. Do you know whether the turbo version actually has Lokasil coating, or maybe a better construction then the 4,8S version ?
