My airbag light came on (997.2S) and had the code read and cleared....8008 - Drivers Side Front Air Bag Stage 2 Above Limit Value.

It came back on about 12 hours later and we cleared it again and it hasn't come back on again for now...any ideas what this message means please?  On another forum they suggested the battery might be on it's way out....it is the original battery so 7 years old this month but seems to work fine.  I only drive about 3000 miles a year and trickle charge it during the winter.

Thanks

This is what the diagnostic manual says, but it isn't very helpful as it doesn't pinpoint the problem.

8008
Diagnosis information POSIP

Diagnostic conditions:
* Ignition on
* Internal function test completed

Possible fault causes:
* Short circuit to B+/ground/between lines or open circuit in the lines
* Connection with other ignition circuit

* POSIP triggering unit faulty
