It appears that the PO has done some electrical work on my 2003 C4S. Any idea what this connector might be for? I found it when I removed the air box and was looking at the wiring for the passenger side O2 sensors which were throwing a code. Looks like an amateur hack for sure and doesn't match Porsche style connectors. The wires go into the factory harness. Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder if its a connection to some sort of computer chip reprogramming device that doesn't work through the OBC port under the dash like a Durametric would.

Or, it could be the auto-deploy parachute braking activation for hard braking from over 175mph?

Interesting looking connection.  I think there likely will be some informed replies.  Cheers,

It looks like the connector for emission testing. It plugs into a holder next to the right engine mount (same holder for the bank 2 O2 sensor connectors). It doesn't connect to anything and you can just leave it alone in the holder.

Thanks, Ahsai.  Good catch.  Makes good sense.  And makes me wonder if those suspect VW cars had a similar emission testing connection.

Porschedane, that explains the electric brake knob under the dash!

Ahsai, thanks for the info! I won't worry about it.
