Hi,

I need to disconnect the battery, before I do, I dont have the radio code.  From a little research I have the PCM 2.1 in my GTS.  I think to get the code, I have to call the OPC, but need the serial number of the unit.......can I get this without pulling the unit on the car?

Would like to avoid pulling the unit if possible.

Why not plug-in a cigarette reverse lead and a small 12v battery to keep the system powered?

Hi - thanks for the suggestion, I need to disconnect the Airbag module, so I need the system to be powered down.   that would be easier otherwise, and what the installer did, last time the battery was changed.

PCM2.1 doesn't have user entry security codes.  The PCM head unit and DME have codes stored which are compared when power is supplied, and if they match it will switch on the PCM.  Disconnecting the battery won't be a problem.

thanks guys - sorry to doubt - just dont want to get it wrong.  OK - I'm good to go, can turn of airbags at will .  Going to try on my next sand trip in a couple of weeks.  Will report back.
