I have had a good look around and can not seem to find anyone with the same problem .....

If i try and lock the car with the the fob it locks and then instantly unlocks its self ......

so i use the key and double lock it , ie 2 quick turns to the left and it locks ....then at some point during the night normally 3am the alarm goes off...

and when i relock it ,its fine for the rest of the night .....another thing if i leave it for a few hours when i get home,  double lock it as before but the alarm seems not to go off..

i am very confused and any pointers would be helpful ,

thanks

Car battery. How old is it?

Are the carpets under your seats dry?  Does the car lock normally using the switch on the dash? Are you getting 'beeps' of any sort when you attempt to lock the car? Is it both doors locking/unlocking, or just the one?

Car battery is 15 months old

carpets are all dry ,

car locks with dash switch,

no beeps

its both doors locking and unlocking

I'd hazard a guess at the driver's side door lock actuator ... but that's just a guess.

The simplest approach would be to check for which, if any, codes have been thrown up.

Do you leave the car with the windows up and the top up?

Generally the immobilizer gives codes that point to the problem area.  The codes can be read by a Porsche specific diagnostic computer. Getting them read out and interpreted is the first place to start before throwing parts, $ and labor at the issue.
