We recently acquired a 2008 Porsche Cayenne 3.6 L V6. While the car is in great condition, the windshield washer does not work. We bought the car from a Porsche dealership, who stated that the pump was faulty. Having a shop with a loft, we decided that was a job worth doing ourselves. Can you take the pump out without taking the reservoir out? I also read that to change the pump you remove the Driver's side fender liner. Is that correct? Does anyone have step by step instructions on replacing the windshield washer pump?

Yes, it should easy to get to once the wheel well liner is removed.

Thanks. What side wheel liner is the pump located?

It is not a hard task at all. Re-installing the wheel well liner is the most difficult task. A note of caution - there is a tire pressure sensor that is in the way of removing the washer fluid tank. If you don't remove it first you may break the bracket - like I did. Not a large cost just a delay in the repair waiting for th replacement part.   Porsche service manual did not mention this (or I missed it).
