Hi Everyone,

I am new to forum but not new to Porsche having owned over 15 of them and also being one of the founders of 6SPEEDONLINE. My current daily driver 2010 Pana TT which I now have 120k  miles on. The car has been bullet proof for me up tell this point. About 20k miles ago around 100k I started to get this message that said Chassis Failure. On ignition reset the error went away and would come back once in awhile. I did some research and found out that this can happen in cold climates. The car still drove fine, my advisor at Porsche said this was fairly common as well.  More recently I got  Vehicle extremely low and started notice when the car is off the front right fenderwell was very low. Once car was started it would go to normal height.

Now the front is very low and the front is very hoppy. My assumption is the front air suspension needs to be replaced which would not be out of the realm with the miles I have. Other than this the car runs perfect. I am going to fix it and been doing research on best course of action. I see there is a couple companies that rebuild the front air suspension. Arnott seems to come up a lot but in calling them said they cannot get the bags to rebuild them. There is a company called Rebuildmastertech in Florida that you send them the struts and they rebuild it. This is kind of a pain because the car would have to stay on lift for several days until parts come back.

Looking for the best option. Thanks

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options on this as most rebuilders don't carry "ready to go" exchange sets in stock as there are not a lot of these cars about, so demand is limited.  That limits you to either buying another set or parking the car for a few days while someone goes through yours.

I hve the same problem in my 957 CTT but PDCC and airsusp. Works great, I don't believe that you need a rebuild! Have tou checked the level sensor in the front wheels? Before you begin replacing parts give it a try it is relatively cheap compared to strut replacement!!
I don't have a Durametric and due to lck of time I haven't visited my Porsche specialist to pull codes! Check what codes are stored and if you want report back!!!

Thanks guys, do you have to the Durametric to read codes or will a generic code reader work like the one for Audi?

A generic code reader will not read or reset alarm system faults, air bag faults, PCM, PSM, PDCC, or other Porsche specific faults.

Most generic code readers do a subset of emission faults - at best.

If you plan keeping this Porsche then Durametric is wise investment as it will likely pay for itself with the first problem you diagnose with it.

hi; i assume you have resolved the above related issue; i had the same issue what chassis failure light coming on; would turn it off and the light would go out yet maybe a month later come back on; did it for about a year; i did have a lowering module in it; took it to dealer and they said that i had blown out both front air bags; spent $5500 repairing to two; week later the same issue again; went back and they figure out maybe the lowering module was bad; sent module out and tested and no issue; had another place install the module again and found a loose wire/pin so seems that something was coming loose causing the light; havent had the issue since.
