I have just read several posts on this site about retrofitting a cruise control system to a Boxster 987 with great interest.  My 07 Boxster S has all the extras except cruise control which I would really like to add.  Until now I had thought this would be a huge job involving additional parts to the engine etc.  I see however that in fact it only needs the hand controls added which is really quite amazing.  Unfortunately the posts are from around 2007 so I am not sure whether these parts are still available.  Has anyone done this mod recently and if so what were you experiences in terms of acquiring the necessary components?

Many thanks

You can still find the parts, either new or used from a bone yard.  Once you get all the part and have them installed, you need to have the system activated with a diagnostic computer.

I have a DIY on retrofitting cruise to the 987.  If you would like a copy, drop me a PM with your email address.  I can also help with the coding if I'm not too far away from you.
