i meaned just this juniinc said ,starter/altornator rebuilding shop replaced new - contact point, coil set for the motor, armature, brush, solenoid and the starter works as new for another 5-7 years so why someone needs new starter for 500$ when he can have a rebuilted for 60-80$?

spare parts are generall use parts Porsche or ferrari dont product starters or clutch or belts :0)

they use from big old companies liek bosch, lucas, sachs , valeo etc ... so it is very easy for an car electrician to find all these parts ..

just find someone experianced .. i dont know in states but in europe where i live there are a lot of experianced mechanics and electricians wich make best job better than official dealler shop. For example i go for brakes to an old mechanic wich make the best ever job not just put the parts on the car he evrytime clean the brake oil bottle and dry with pressure air he clean all the system from old brake oil and put all the air bubbles out, try to find good old mechanics the oem parts of a porsche is very easy to find from the producer factory in half price that the same in porsche box.

the pads are Textar the brake discks are zimmerman etc try to buy from the manufacturer or from ebay power sellers

michael

dont pay double or triple price for just an outside paper box with the porsche emblem the inside is the same part

I know this thread is old. I replaced the starter, and dumbo is also gone for me.

Also, I broke my oil dip stick hose like scherb. Used epoxy and an larger tube to connect the broken hose together. Hope it holds.
