Frustrated!!! becker cr-220

Hi Loren, please help.....bought this great 90 911....original becker radio in car (CR-220) everything worked but no tuner, just static. I take to a radio installer, he "guarantees" me that it's the radio, so he changes it and guess what....it was the antenna instead. so I have him put back my original radio and of course now I need a code....here is my radio info:

Becker 1

Type 4462

Serial # 25011028 24/99

GAL 00

 

problem #2....so it's my antenna or booster I'm guessing. the installer said it's a nightmare to take dash off and try to fix and wanted to add an aftermarket, sort of stick on dash type antenna. I was not comfortable with this...so I ask you or any other Porsche owner that had a similar situation what they encountered and possible solutions.

As I it does not matter where you install the antenna booster - it just has to be inline.

I understand about the booster.....my question was more on easiest way to get to it....remove dash? from behind glove compartment? thank you!
