Hi, I have a CEL that comes up every 3 to 4 days after reset, dealership tracked it down to a smal leak from the charcoal canister. Can someone give me some advise how to replace it?

Thanks

It always helps to list the exact model and year of car.

Many small leaks are not the canister itself but one of the valves or line connections. I suggest further investigation...

Hi Loren,

Thanks for the quick answer!

It is a 997.1 TT 2008 convertible. The porsche dealer tested it and told me that it is the canister. I thought as well that it could be a line connection, but no idea how to test it. Thought to replace the canister and see what happen....Porsche is sure it is the canister (that is at least what they told me..).

Remove the top bracket and then lift the canister as much as possible.

Release the large coupling and pull it off. Then release the small coupling and pull it off also.

Remove the canister.

Install is the reverse order.

Porsche does not quote a "book time" for this - but I am sure I could do it less than hour (likely 15 minutes).

MSRP on the complete canister is $366.39.
