Hi,

So I was cleaning today, and was trying furiously (with one hand twisted one way, the other twisted another way) to remove one of the grommets/body drains from the front of my 2009 Boxster S. In spite (because) of all my efforts, I ended up pressing the grommet down through, into the hole. I don't know where it went, and can't get any sense for exactly what it went into. It sort of seems like there's a whole bunch of empty, wide open space down there.

This is the one in the front, on the right (passenger's) side, immediately adjacent to the battery. Here is a picture.

My question: Is this anything to be worried about? Do I need to find a way to get to it? Is there any damage it could do floating down around the area into which it fell? Does it serve a significant and important function that I should at least procure and install another?

Many thanks in advance to all the 987 gurus here!

I've attached a picture for reference...

It is probably sitting on top of the fuel tank, so it won't do any harm.  I would just get a replacement and call it a day.
