So you want to tell me this battery is toast again?

Yes 12volts is either very flat battery or its toast.

Read this from the Touareg forum, they say if not battery voltage its the kessy unit and/or door handles faulty conflicting with the the shifter selector to give "move selector to P position" dash warning.!!!!!!

http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f43/move-selector-lever-to-position-p-19031-5.html

I also know the kessy antennas and door handle sensors can drain batteries when faulty. Maybe all related problems Thomas?

Please keep me posted!

Maybe i will just swap the battery from my turbo to this car and see how it works. If no change, no need for a new battery

Ok,  hope the fix is a simple battery change. I have the same exact issue.

Today i had time to continue to work on this. Have now 2 fully charged batteries inside.  Still the same. Message on the display and the missing click clack when you put in the key and take out the key from ignition.

The click clack is only working without the green circuit board. Strange

Its not a matter of low voltage. I have 2 new batteries. Driving arround without problems but:

the "P"  problem still excists.

no illumination on the shifter for selected gear.

according some forum members i need to check the wiring under passenger carpet for broken or bad wires.

There is also a micro switch on the shifter assembly that senses when the shift lever is not in Park position.

It too can cause the message to display and prevent the key being removed when engine off.

thank you very much.  I will try this. Should be easy to replace.  Will report the result

I hope this is the fix! If it does work, would you make a video about it?

A fault in the circuit from the switch to the control module can be at fault.

Here is a similar diagram from a Touareg showing the F319 switch which inputs to the start control module J518.IMG_0011.PNG
