Hello. I'm having a problem of no heat in the car. Both pipes behind the battery leading to the heater core are hot, so I suspect the temperature sensor on the right hand side of the dash is the problem.

 

After removing the circular cover and the three screws on the panel, it won't budge. Are there clips to contend with?

Long before I'd go after the temperature sensor, I would be looking at the air diverter doors in the heater box.  These are a well know failure item on the 986, and will cut off the heat.

Just one question. Can that be accessed from the trunk or does it entail dismantling the dashboard?
