Hello,

I am  new to the forum I am  from cyprus, I am porsche  boxster owner 2.7 MY 2004   85k kilometers facelift black tiptronic, and I would like to gain more  horse power. due to the budget restriction I can trade in with 996 c4 3.4 (1999) 120k  kilometers and C4 3.6  (2001)  140k kilometers both are black and  tiptronic.

I have driven the 3.6 c4 and I feel the more horse power  compared with mine....but not what I was expected to feel....

tomorrow I will go test drive  with the 3.4 C4.

As I read  on  the web  996 engines have issues  with RMS and  dont  know what else....

I would like to  hear  your feedback  on  the 996 car and engines compare  with  986 2.7 engines as long as  the driving feeling of  two cars    prons and cons....your contribution is very important  on my decision because   in cyprus  are not very well educated in porsche.

Thank you

Marios

I would take 3,6 version. Its way upgraded. Nikasil coated cylinders, some changes on head, ceramic coated pistons, higher stroke, vario cam plus and engine got 3 chains insted 5 of 3,4 litre version. Ims and rms issues got both. But its fixable...
