Hi I have a 2002 boxster 986 with a window drop problem . When open and shut passenger door window catches. When I use roof switch or window rocker switches window operates up and down however I can manually push the passenger window down about 1-2 inches by hand but can't budge the driver window . Also when I pull the roof lever both windows drop but by different amounts ?

is this a regulator issue ?

i would like some help before spending money out on parts

You are likely going to have to open the door panel and inspect it find out.

There is a microswitch in the door handle that tells the window to drop as you open the door. But a bad regulator can also cause the window not drop properly.

The microswitch can be easily tested with an ohm meter once it is out of the circuit and most bad regulators show signs of wear or shredding of the cable.

You won't know for sure until you remove the door panel and do the inspection.

I have had the panel off my concern is that I can manually push the window down 2 inches by hand on that side yet the other side that works fine is solid and it won't move by hand.

I have had the panel off and can't see any issues visually
