996 Top Latch Won't energize

In my case if I move the top latch open with the tool opening one of the micro switches, the convertible opening sequence works properly. When the top closes however, the latch will not retract. So it seems all the micro switches are working. Does anyone have an idea why the top latch is not getting power? I've just replaced the top latch assembly. Thanks for any ideas.
