After some spirited driving, parking, and restarting my 09 997.2 C4S, I got a CEL, visit shop message. I scanned it to find this fault code. Anyone seen an 8414 fault code? I can't find ANYTHING on this.

Cleared the fault, and it was gone for a few days. Then I jammed the gas and took it to +5k on the tach with the engine relatively cool one time to do a quick pass one day, parked it, and came out to have this fault again.

Welcome to RennTech.

The DMTL (Diagnostic Module Tank Leakage) tests the fuel tank and fueling components for leaks by slightly pressurizing the fuel tank and evaporative components. On some cars, like the BMW where this is a common issue, use a small pump to accomplish this test.

Thanks.  I did a lot of searching for this code, and gathered that there is an issue with pressurization.  But the details of "8414", specifically, eludes me.  As I understand it, it involves everything from the gas cap through to the oil fill cap.  Hoping to narrow down the cause of the leak.

That is going to involve some "hand on" diagnostics, testing the various valves and sensors in the system.
