oil drips from right rear wheel well at bottom

2000 carrera2 cabrio with 70k miles and recent oil/filter change.  Noticed oil stain on inside of right rear lower wheel well at bottom and on garage floor below it.  Also, recently hit something that damaged the black rubber trim that looks like short mud guard but in front of wheel well, end of trim at bottom of car body.  Hard to describe location since not familiar with terminology.  Originally thought was from excess oil but oil level only slightly above max level, at dot, of dip stick.  Assume no oil lines in wheel well cover.  No stains in engine compartment.  Haven't removed inside wheel well cover.  Anybody have idea what my problem is.  Thanks.

Is the oil stinky? You may have ruptured a motor mount.

If the oil is in front of the wheel, you may have leaking convertible top cylinders. The oil goes out the water drain under the wheel liner.

Can't tell if oil is odiferous but it is clear.  Top has been down for winter while hard top on.  Will remove top and then will be able to tell if oil cylinder.  Looks like engine oil but really can't tell the consistency.  Thanks to both.  Will do more investigating this weekend.

Confirmed the cabrio top hydraulic pistons leaking, moreso on right side, slight on left.  Assume options:  have mine remanned, assuming they can; buy them remanned; buy them used; buy new OEM; and, buy after market.  Assume in renntech there's a DIY.  I have friend who's ex Porsche mechanic.  What do you think?  Thanks again.

New info.  Can't find a DIY but an after market garage told me that to replace the pistons requires a computer calibration for Carreras.  Can assume that even if the pistons are done DIY that car would then have to be taken to a dealer for the calibration?  Found new pistons for $600 to $800 each and used pair for $600.  Thanks again.

Update: FLA company will swap out my pistons or rebuild mine with 3 day turn around. Even though Porsche dealers here say installation requires computer calibration, FLA company adamant in experience that not necessary plus gives 3 year warranty on them.

Anybody out there have experience with calibration vs not after install the rebuilt pistons?

When only leaking pistons are replaced calibration is not necessary, but when the entire system has not completely or partialy reached the points of reference (microswitches) a calibration is needed.

Good. Another reason for renntech existence as a filter for the dealers' input. Thanks and will update when pistons installed and top working.

Rebuilt pistons installed and top works again without leaks.  All is well.
