Is there a 996 Dash warning lights self test?

Hi,

 

I noticed today that my coolant level was low so I have topped it up and will monitor it to see how it goes over the next week or so - however I have read that there is a coolant low level indicator that flashes a certain colour in the corner of the temp guage if the coolant is too low. 

 

I have not had any lights flashing so I am hoping everything is fine, however it has occurred to me that maybe the light isn't working.

 

On my Z3M there is a proceedure I can do with the key that will put the car into self test mode and it will cycle round all the dash instruments to show that they are working etc.  Is there something similar on the 996?

 

For reference it is a MK1, 3.4l 1998 manual.

That bulb is tested like all other warning light bulbs when ignition is on prior to start.

There's not an automatic test for the level sensor itself.
