Navigation screen colors reversed?

I have a 2005 Cayenne S with Navigation. For a wile the unit has suffered from the occasional reboot. And for a couple of years now, the screen seems to invert the colors. i.e. black text on a white background. And lots of streaks. 

 

It used to happen occasionally but now is pretty much all the time. I used to fix it by tapping the screen. But those days seems to be over.

 

To me it seems like it might just be "cold solder joint". So possibly easy to fix with careful disassembly. I certainly don't feel like buying a new head unit.

 

Has anyone experienced this before? Do you have a fix that does not involve buying new parts? I am an EE and am quite electronically inclined. I'd rather not waste the time if it's instead some bad chip that's not discoverable or obtainable...
