Why on this Renntech site are we calling the Cayenne a 9PA or 9PA! and not the designation I thought was appropriate 955 and 957?  I know this site has dedicated Porsche enthusiasts on it who believe the only real Porsche is a rear engine air cooled....  Is this a way not to include the Cayenne in the typical Porsche three number designation?

Just curious, not serious, I assume there is a good reason.  The rest of the world seams to use 955 and 957.

With all due respect you are mistaken.

We use the same model numbering/labeling that Porsche uses in ALL their documentation.

It's an interesting question.  As Loren demonstrated, the 9PA etc. is in Porsche's documentation, but their part numbers often have the 955/957 (and probably 958 too), so this suggests that these numbers are also internal.
