I just picked up a Durametric cable to finally get to the bottom of why my car isn't starting, and I can't seem to find the codes that it's throwing anywhere. I'm aware of the DME, that was just from when I unplugged the battery. As for the other electrical fault, I don't know where to go to for help. According to Durametric, DME access is routed through the immobilizer, so I think the immobilizer must be okay.

You mean the engine cranks at normal speed but it doesn't start/catch? Checked fuses C1 to C4? Does the tachometer needle bounce when you crank? Is it intermittent? Have you tried another key?

Just got to investigating. Cleared all the fault codes, fault 25 remained. Said that it was a W lead. Apparently it's fuse E1 on the footwell fuse panel. It wasn't letting the radio get power or the starter crank the car, but now everything seems to be working.

Glad you got it sorted. I was under the impression that the error msg for fuse E1 will mention something like "term 86s" but that's probably true only for non-Durametric scanners.

okay here I thought it fixed itself, but it's cranking without starting. New gas was added but it won't start for me. no motion on the tach, c fuses are good. I only have one key

Need more info on how the car got into this state. Were you ever able to start it before (sounded like you just got the car).

Cranking means the key, the immobilizer, the clutch switch (if it has one), the starter relay and the starter are all good.

Next is fuel, air, and ignition. If tach is motionless, it's likely the crank position sensor is bad and DME not firing the coils. Can you verify sparks?

Fuel pressure is good, air is gettiing flow, throttle body is clean. It's tiptronic, so the neutral safety switch would be the culprit, but it's allowing the starter to crank. No codes are being thrown. How would I go about testing spark? Just pull the coils and plugs?

You can use a spark tester like this one http://www.amazon.com/Thexton-THE404-Spark-Tester/dp/B0002STSBM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1454388016&sr=8-3&keywords=Spark+tester
