Hello Guys,

2008 Porsche Boxster with 116K Miles.

It's the second time this happened to me, for the first time I didn't do anything just got back to normal after a few weeks, now the problem is back again:

- Turn on the car, drive, everything is fine.

- Put the car in Parking, it show on the cluster that is in Parking

- When I try to remove the key it gives me a message saying to move lever to Parking

Here is a video with the situation:

Appreciate any help, I searched around and found nothing similar.

Thanks in advance,

Rodolfo.

Does anyone have orientation on how to remove the ignition switch?

Exact model and year of your car please...

Boxster 2008 Base, USD$115K Miles

You will need a special tool to remove the outer ring on the ignition switch assembly.

It is VW tool T10152.

Thank you for the prompt reply, do you have any suggestion where to get the tool? I have googled a little and have found only in Europe.

I took the ring out without the tool, will make a tutorial in PDF and post.

Now the most important question: buying a new ignition switch do I need to change my key? Also need to reprogram?
