Hi Guys

New to the forum as an active member!!! This is my first post so excuse me for any mistakes. To the problem now. I have a Cayenne 2008 GTS with 380,000km !!!!!!!!!!!!! On saturday i washed the car and since then various problems started appearing. I noticed that the car wouldn't lock with the remote nether unlock so i thought to my self that it is the remote battery despite the fact that i had no warning on the cluster.

Next day morning i tried starting the car and it started fine but the "Check Tailights" warning came on. Got off the car to check the lights and they didn't work. I tried opening the boot to check the bulbs and i discovered that the rear lid wouldn't open either. Also as soon as the car starts the Alarm starts singing, not very loud though ( if my car was to be stollen i wouldn't hear the alarm, thats how low volume it was)

So besides the locking and unlocking problem, taillights  the rear lid problem appeared.

I thought that it might be a fuse so i checked all fuses. Left and right fusebox and the one in the engine bay. All the fuses were ok. I plugged in the Durametric Proffessional cable and i come up with the fault code "1330 Rear convenience system control module - No signal/communication, test conditions are not-completed, fault is not currently active and is not causing a DTC light"

I did a lot of online searching but couldn't find anything specific. My guess is that i need a new Vehicle Electrical System Control unit. Any ideas? Has anything similar happened to anyone? I am out of ideas and the Dealership here in Cyprus is no option. I used to work for them :) so i know whats going on!!!!!!!!!!

Any info would be greatly appeciated!!!!

P.S. Hope my post is ok. Dont want to be banned on my first post!!!!

How old is your main battery?

Cayennes seem to have a number of strange electrical problems when the main battery is weak or failing.

If your battery is 4 years old or older I would start by replacing it.

380,000 Kms ! It's certainly done its service.

Apart from the battery, I'd feel around for any and all dampness inside the vehicle. Relays ? It surely can't be a coincidence that the problems have started immediately after washing the vehicle.

Hi Loren, Main system battery was replaced 3 years ago. Ordered a new one to replace it because as you said these cars have issues when battery is unstable or when the voltage drops below a certain point.

Wizard: Checked fuses, relays and everything else basically but no water entered the car :(
