I have a 1999 986 with no engine. tranny, exhaust etc was on a pallet. I also have a complete 2.5L out of a 1997 986. The two went together easy enough except the oil cooler on the engine has no vent port for the hose to hook to. The engine does have a steel pipe that sticks out beside the oil fill tube. The pipe is made for a quick connect type connector. So if ur looking down on the engine you got the dip stick tube, then the oil fill tube, then another steel tube. I cannot find any diagrams, pics, or forums that tell what this tube is or what hooks to it. The smallest hose from the coolant tant will hook to it if I lengthened the hose. I'm being told to get a newer oil cooler for the hose from the coolant tank to hook to but that still leaves this small pipe. Update!! I found a water cooling diagram 97 - 04 boxster that calls it a vent pipe pn# 99610621002 what does it look to??
