Hi, new to the forum so please go easy on me!

The last week or so I have noticed that when idle my boxster seems to stall. It can't settle on an idle rpm and then stalls. I have done the suggested fix, clean the throttle (which was full of dust and dirt) and replaced everything and it seems to run fine, however after running for a few minutes I have "CHECK ENGINE" light constantly on. Anyone know if there is something I might have done to make the light come on?

It was running fine, I got some fuel from the garage and then on the way back home the light came on...

Any help would be great!

Clive

Welcome to RennTech :welcome:

Without the actual codes, anything would be a guess.  Get it scanned and let us know what you find.

Well I assumed it was something I had done when I cleaned out the throttle. I took the air intake off, all the clips and bolts etc, and I am sure everything went back on ok but I was just wondering if I should check something in that area first before driving 1 hour to the porsche garage.

You may be correct, but without the actual codes it would still be a guessing game to figure out what is at fault.  This is what the codes are for.

Before driving to Porsche, have a local shop scan the vehicle with their OBD II tool, it could tell you enough to get moving on fixing it.

I notice you are not in the states...Many auto parts stores here in the states will do a scan if you ask them.  Perhaps that is the same where you are located?

They may not be able to read some Porsche specific codes but the scan tools should be able to read/interpret the majority of the codes....worth checking to avoid the drive

Good luck
