Hi

I am new to this forum! I am from the UK but live in Tokyo, Japan. I recently sold my 2003 996 C2 and am replacing it with a new 997 Carrera. I was at the dealership yesterday going over a few final details when I noticed that the cars in the showroom had Continental Tyres on the 19" alloys and Michellin's on the 18" Carrera Alloys.

I can at this stage request a different tyre but am not sure what would be best. I had Pirelli P Zero's on the 996, bit noisy on certain roads but no issues at all.

I know a few factors could make a difference, PASM, spprts suspension etc etc but any general advise or opinon's would be appreciated. For your information, my car will not have PASM - although I would have liked it - not prepared to wait 6 months for it!

Thanks for the reply. The only way to request a certain tyre in Tokyo is if you are happy to pay for it.

Anybody have Continentals?

I have the Contis on my 997 (19") and found them to be a very good tire, they are quite, ride nice, and stick well in hard turns. I had pilot sports on my 996 and I like the Contis better. the new generation sport contact 2 seems to be improved over earlier models.
