I just installed my hardtop, and the post that goes into the receptacle right above the driver's head is squeaking terribly. What can be done about this? The hardtop itself also makes some noises, especially on bumpy roads, but I assume this is just how the hardtops are. I have to cure the squeak, however - it's driving me nuts!

Thanks for the help.

Swing by your local BMW dealer and pick up a tube of Gummi Pflege. Rub this magic goo into every rubber gasket around the top and the top area on the car. This should solve the vast majority of your hardtop squeaks.

What you call a post should have a black plastic cap on it. The cap likes to pop off when the top is removed. You will have noise if the cap is missing. A dealer will place felt tape on the cap for noise issues. Jeff
