Engine Deck Lid Stuck

My engine deck lid will not open. The deck lid does not have a wing and is the factory regular deck lid. The open solenoid sounds like it is working but the lid is still tightly locked. I have tried pushing on it will actuating the solenoid with no success. Does anyone know if there a emergency release for the rear deck lid like the front hood has? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, it should have a manual release cable near the left rear tail light.

Use a hook to grab it behind the wheel well liner.

Great! I am guessing the wheel well liner will need to be removed or partially removed to access it?

Sometimes you can get lucky with a long hook tool.

Grab the metal cable -- not any wiring.

After several hours of trying to fish the cable from the wheel opening I watched some videos of the tail lights being replaced to get the location of this emergency cable. I also got a tip from a user on rennlist saying that you can go in through the base of the tail light and the bumper.
