Boxster threw up?

Hi all, our 2002 Boxster puked out lots of coolant from the reservoir after being driven, It wasn't running hot before this happened and after refilling it seemed fine, any suggestions as to why it might do this?

Where did it throw up from? Expansion tank in the trunk or underneath the car? What did the coolant look like? Normal color? First thought is heater valve 928-574-573-03 but depends where it came from.

Thanks, It came from the expansion tank, and was clean. It basically emptied the Tank out.

Was the cap on tight or is the cap faulty?

Have you got the latest cap - 04 ? If yes, a fractured expansion tank is the most likely cause.

Agree, check the cap and the tank for cracks.

Tank is ok, but Yes I did suspect that maybe it could be the Cap, Thanks for the replies.
