If I shift fast from first to second, the clutch slips. I'm shifting the same as I have in any other car. If I shift and delay hitting the gas, it doesn't slip. If I pop the clutch going into second and hit the gas, it won't slip. I just can't shift with both feet and finding the engagement point as normal, hit the gas hard and release the clutch.

What's up?

All cars have quirks about them. Not sure if this is one of them. There is no indication of a problem in any other gear and first gear launches perfectly.

It always helps to have the year and model of the car.

If the clutch slips at all, it is not normal behavior.  Does your clutch pedal seem high and unusually stiff?

Well, it you are seeing slippage, there is something seriously wrong that is probably not going to heal itself.  If the clutch is not something you can deal with yourself, take the car to someone that can.

You may want to check the connection of the shifting cables to the transmission.  They snap in and one of the connection may be loose.  Let me know and I can send some photos.
