Cayenne Diesel - "Read out soot mass particulate filter" ?

I was finishing up the interim service on my CD and noted that one of the service items on the maintenance schedule is to read out the soot mass particulate filter. I have a Durametric tool but don't see this variable. And if I can find it, I'd need to know what is acceptable.

 

Called the dealer and they never even heard of doing this during a service visit.

 

Typical dealer... they got a bit nasty and very short with me on the phone when I asked and mentioned I was doing my own work. Getting so sick of Porsche in general... love the car, hate the company, loathe the dealers.

Your question intrigued me as I have never done a filter regeneration on a Cayenne, so I went searching and found two items on the subject; the first is an electronic version of the owner's manual for the vehicle which has some notes on the subject:

So the dealers can do it.  I am not aware of a function in Durametric for this, so you might want to drop them a line an inquire if it can.

So you can obtain the data, but I have no frame of reference for what is acceptable!

Found a useful frame of reference, looks like "calculated soot mass" is the important data point:

Information
The soot mass must be checked every 30, 000 km (18, 640 miles) on diesel vehicles.
If the particle filter is replaced, the soot mass value must be reset.
1. Start PIWIS Tester II 9818 and follow the instructions on the Tester.
2. Select the vehicle type and start the PIDT.
3. Select the DME menu and press [F12].
4. Select the Actual values, input signals menu.
5. Select the Catalytic converter diesel particle filter menu and press [F12].

6. K100 Soot mass calculated must be selected, then press [F12] to continue.

Also on the V8 Diesel:
7. K101 Soot mass calculated must be selected, then press [F12] to continue.
8. The value is now displayed in grams.

1. If the value you read off is less than 44 g , no action is required. The particle filter can
be regenerated automatically if the customer drives with a corresponding driving style.
2. If the value is 44 g , a service regeneration must be carried out.
3. If the value is higher than 68 g (V6 TDI BIN5: 60 g ) service regeneration is no longer
possible. The particle filter must be replaced.
