06' cayenne rough running issue?

hi guys, first please bear with me as im a bmw tech so im in a whole new universe. my friend has a 06 cayenne, v6, non turbo. problem is that the engine at times will just fall on its face. you try and give it gas and it just sputters, pops, and just about stalls pretty much goes into limp mode and wont accelerate, sometimes it will stall. the problem is intermittent, sometimes it will run fine, others it acts up. had a bunch of codes originally. some for the maf and some fuel trim codes,

changed the maf yesterday and still doing the same thing. only two codes came back, p2176, p2177. im having a hard time finding the exact translation but iirc the one is a throttle code related to idle and the other is a fuel trim code. was thinking vacuum leak but it would have to be a massive leak for it to run the way it does. i checked the vacuum lines on the right side of the engine etc and the whole intake for leaks and found none. maybe fuel pressure issue? i read something about removing the fuse for one of the fuel pumps to diag the issue. idk if it applies to this model. anyway any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Possible fault cause

- Intake air system leaking

- Leaking exhaust system (draws fresh air)

- Incorrect main charge signal from MAF sensor

- Fuel pressure too low

- Fuel injector(s) mechanically faulty (sticks)

- Volume supply of fuel pump too low

 

P2179 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Lower Load Range, Bank 2 (FRAU2) - Above Limit

 

Possible fault cause

- Intake air system leaking

- Leaking exhaust system (draws fresh air)

- Incorrect main charge signal from MAF sensor

- Fuel pressure too low

- Fuel injector(s) mechanically faulty (sticks)

- Volume supply of fuel pump too low

 

The 300 series are misfires on cylinder 1,3, 4, and 5.

 

If you are sure you do not have an intake leak then the fuel pump(s) delivery should be checked,

If you do a search here you will see that a number of folks have had fuel pumps go bad.
