I have a 2007 997 C4s cabriolet. The headlamps are the self levelling type and when switched on the units go through the self levelling process but finish up too high- the dipped position is about where the high beam should be and the high beam is way too high. Does anyone know how to adjust the base level? Any help much appreciated.

Hi Loren

Thanks for your response. I have a manual and had carried out the procedure(switch on headlight in dipped position then turn on ignition) - the headlights then go through the described sequence but finish up with the beams too high. I wanted to know if it is possible to adjust the self levelling device so that the beams are not so high.

You do know that all setting must be done on perfectly level ground?

Also, have the headlight bases been replaced? If so, then they may not have adjusted the headlight base (mounts) to proper heights.

If all the mechanicals are correct then you might need a PIWIS diagnostic tool to check for faults in the HBA controller.

Setting done on level ground.Headlight bases are original. No faults show on Durametric diagnostics. I think it may need the headlight mounts setting which is what I am trying to find out how to do.
