Looks like U clamps which hold item #2 in place on the clamp shell.

I bought the car last week, this is what the previous owner wrote me about the part and he sent me the above diagram.

 

"I just remembered one small issue to keep an eye on. On the bottom of the convertible clamshell there is a rubber seal that extends all the way from one side to the other. It is held in place by several metal spring clips but I think 1 or 2 might be missing and the rubber came off on me before. You should probably order a couple more of these clips. What can happen if it comes off partially, it can jam between the clamshell and the body and will prevent it from coming down completely. You’ll know this as the convertible light will not go out"

You are absolutely right, it is a u clamp part # 99950760009
