Hi! First time poster. Just got a 2004 Cayenne S today (140k miles–I'm a bit nervous).

Anyways, one of the first things on the list of things is to update the stereo. The radio unit is a CDR-23 (no nav), but I *think* it has the BOSE system. From what I've read, if I want to use the factory amp, I'd need to use a MOST HUR kit. I'd rather avoid this because they're lots of $$ relative to the price of a receiver (or even what I paid for the car). Would rather spend $500 on a better amp or something.

I did come across this post which seems to be what my situation will be (even though it is for a Carrera). Aside from the physical location of a trunk, etc, would this apply to my situation? Also, would anybody happen to know a wiring harness they sell in the US that is compatible?

Would love any advice. Also curious if I don't go the MOST HUR route, if functions such as steering wheel controls will still work?

Thanks!
Mike

I had a thread going on another place, discussing just the thing. Compiled list of items that I would need. However I managed to fix my pcm and didn't feel like spending money, so it all stayed. Sometimes I do think if it would still make sense to swap.

Anyway, here is the url...
