I was wondering if the power steering pump can make a racket and vibrate like if the bearing is rough. Anyone have a suggestion on this if you can repair it . could be around 1500.00 at dealer to fix.

They told me that alignment doesn't effect performance when I told them factory specs makes my car perform terrible for $300.00

Power steering pumps can make a racket when they are coming apart.  Take off the serpentine belt and turn it by hand, you should feel it of that is the source of the noise.  They also tend to leak when the bearings are going bad.

If it is the pump, you will need to replace it as it cannot be rebuilt easily.  You will also need to flush the fluid in the system as it could be full of debris, which can kill the rack as well as the new pump.

When I checked the pump with the belt off it was smooth and had fluid in it. I can't track down the source exactly.

When you hear the noise, just use a mechanic's stethoscope to touch the pump and see if you can hear the noise.

Does your alternator have a free wheeling pulley or a fixed pulley?

The lower right engine area is exactly the spot where the waterpump is located, have you used an OEM part?

It was the alternator bearings that were bad from the pully that was not freewheeling for quite some time! After it killed the water pump twice I replaced one pully. Yeah just get a new alternator!
