From what I've read about the Bose woofer its a very low ohm speaker, what radio are you using? if it's an after mkt. check the ohm load on the speakers

What options do you have with your Boxster? If you have door speakers you already have base speakers, and the addition of another will make little difference. Do you still have the factory radio? If so you may want to think about going to an after market radio (I know the purest hates this idea, but the Becker radio is just slightly up from my old crystal set) I've just installed the Alpine XM9820 with XM radio and left my factory speakers in the car - what a difference this makes!

So - bottom line If you have speakers in your door I would pass on putting in another base. :drive:
