Hello!

My 2003 Carrera 4s has something tricky. It's a 2nd hand car... When you open the door the car's dome light does not lit, nor the doors... But if I put the key on the ignition the it turns on, both: Dome and doors....

I checked all fuses and they're ok... A relay removed perhaps because of the buzzer or something?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Did you check the owners manual and the switch on the overhead light control?

Yes I switch left right middle nothing, but door lights doesn't lit either... Just work if I put the key on the ignition

From your owners manual (available to download here)

"Switching on and off automatically

~ Move switch to center position. The lights are switched on when a door is unlocked or opened or when the ignition key is withdrawn from the ignition lock.
The lights are switched off with a delay of approx. 30 seconds after the door is closed. The light goes out immediately as soon as the ignition key is inserted in the ignition lock or
the vehicle is locked.

Orientation light
Light-emitting diodes in the doors and in the interior light improve your orientation inside the vehicle when it is dark.
The light-emitting diodes are switched on when the vehicle is unlocked and switched off again when the vehicle is locked.

Light-emitting diode in the interior light
Changing the brightness of the light-emitting diode:
-- Press switch C with a pointed object (such as a ball-point pen). The brightness changes.

Based on Loren's info above, sounds like your ignition switch is acting the opposite way. Strange indeed.

Do with a PIWIS a "Car Handover" the control box is probably lost his memory, this occurs more and solved within a minute.

Yes, Loren. I checked that several times and nothing at all... Step by Step....

Same behavior when the passenger door is opened?

Yes I checked pass door and same behavior....

I guess PIWIS then is the only solution... I spent like $600.00 on eBay for the Durametric... It's beginning to be considered to be re-sell :-(
