I have MY2002 Carrera and it is the 1st year with glass rear window for the Carrear Cab. I think the Boxster came the year after. The 1st yr Boxster with glass rear window should be 2003.

Any new news on when the top with the glass window (or one from another manufacturer) may make it to the US? I have a 2000 Boxster that wants a new top, but at this point I'm going to wait it out in hope that the glass window will make it here in the next year.

You can buy it now. Steve offered to sell me one directly from the Wales factory. It is 595 pounds and he said about 50 pounds for shipping to California. Get one. I would like to see it in person.

Worth considering. Did they tell you anything about installation? I don't mind risking a few dollars, but I'd hate to screw up my frame or anything else on the car.

I'll wait a little bit to see more reviews of their tops after they leave the shop, then I just may order one (if someone doesn't catch on and supply them over here first).

You can always go to Wales and for 950 pounds you get the top and it installed. Look at the prior thread. 3 guys on the UK Boxster board had it intalled at the factory and they all had good reviews.

It installs just like the factory top. There are pictures of it being installed in the prior thread.

The company does not have a partner in the US but they do in Canada. I bet they are going to jack up the price if they start selling the top in North America. Get it direct from the factory.

There is a shop in Santa Clara that installs tops.

Premier Upholstery? I've been there and would take my car to them - seems like a good operation. Not cheap, but I think you get what you pay for on that stuff. I just might call and ask them to look into it and see if they'll do the install.

That is the shop.

Manny at Stevens Creek Porsche also does the top replacements. I have watched him a bit on a Boxster and 996 but I had to leave. Maybe I will kidnap him one Saturday for a work on cars day.
