Additional High Beam Lights 2005 Cayenne Turbo

I have not been able to get my additional high beams to come on. I have checked bulbs replaced a failing headlamp harness, replaced the broken mounting bracket and tested contacts. I examined the headlight unit and discovered the additional lamps are not controlled by the ballast. I tested the corresponding terminals but got no voltage terminals 5 and 7. The main lamps do lift up for high beam and the corner lamps go out but the addition halogen H7 lamps do not come on.

I also pulled the 40amp fuse from the left fuse panel as I read this would reset the lights.

Am I missing a relay that turns them on external to the headlight unit? I have no wiring diagram so I am at a loss. Is this something that is programmable through the OBD2?

Any help would be appreciated many thanks.

 

I have run diagnostics and have the following error:

 

02088 - Lights for Auxiliary High Beams
            007 - Short to Ground - Intermittent

I assume by "additional high beams" you mean the halogen flash-to-pass beams?  With bi-xenon lights they aren't supposed to come on. They are used for flashing when the HID's aren't on, and DLR's - and not much else.

Interesting idea but not true according to the diagnostics, giving a high beam error. The HID's are meant to fill the gap when the bi-xenon's point up. Thanks anyway

Resolved

There was a missing fuse on the RH fuse box all clear and fully functioning.

Which fuse number was that?  My driver's side additional high beam is not working... thanks in advance.

Try fuse number 8, 20amp.
