Driving home from work the other day in my 2007 Carrera S and the familiar tone and check engine light came on, with the friendly message to visit my workshop. When I got home and plugged in the code reader I got a P2402 code followed by Pnd Mod 11 and Cnf Mod 11. Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit High.

The Renntech code description is Pump motor final stage tank leak diagnosis module.

Anyone have experience with this one?

P2402 DMTL – Tank Leakage Diagnostics Module, pump output stage

Possible fault causes:
- Open circuit, short circuit to B+ or short circuit to ground of activation line for DMTL pump motor
- Open circuit in the power supply to the DMTL
- DMTL – Tank Leakage Diagnostics Module faulty
- DME control module faulty

Loren,

Thanks. All of the possible causes you noted are beyond my backyard mechanic capabilities so I guess it's a visit to the workshop.
