Hello All.

Just purchased an 08 S w 48K miles.

Airbag lights on dash, as well as center console are illuminated.

Got my Durametric reader today and got codes 8009 & 800A  (Driver/Pass seat belt tensioners above upper limits).

8057 (AWS control unit read out fault memory) And 8010 (Advanced weight system calibration required).

After checking the posts, I see the airbag system is a cause for many problems.

My car was involved in an accident.  Am I correct in assuming I will have to purchase new seat belt tensioners?

If so, does anyone have a part number and a vendor I can obtain them?

I'm at a lost in regards to the Advanced Weight System (AWS).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I prefer to investigate solutions myself, before going to the dealer.

Thanks in advance!!

:welcome:

Yes, if the airbags and/or the seat belt tensionners fired then you will new airbags and seat belt tensioners.

Do you know what parts were replaced?

I do not know how any car seller (or dealer) can sell someone a car with fault codes - unless it was a salvage.

The airbags didn't deploy, but there was an impact to the rear of the car.

The rear bumper cover was replaced.

The seller indicated the airbag system just needed to be reset???

But after hooking up the Durametric system, I see its a little more involved then just clearing out the fault codes.

Thanks for the response.

I will track down seatbelt tensioners to start.

The seat belt tensioners are pyrotechnic - they fire once and they must be replaced.

Fault 800A - PCM2 gateway -- Air-conditioning system regulator - no communication
Fault 8009 PCM2 - MMI -- MOST fault optical/electrical

Fault 8010 - TV tuner -- Power supply - limit value not reached

I suggest you reset these - drive the car. Then see what (if any) come back.
