I have a 2006 Cayenne Turbo S, purchased 2nd hand a few years ago. I've noticed that the steering column adjustment is really limited in its up and down movement, moves maybe 1/2" full travel.

 

Is this normal or typical, if not is there a procedure to re-initilize the control unit, I had the battery replaced when I first purchased the vehicle and wondered if that had some kind of effect on control unit.

 

Thanks for any help or assistance in advance.

Procedure to initialize steering column

 

1. Switch on ignition

 

2. Use seat adjustment to tilt backrest completely forward ( as far as the stop)

 

3. Keep switch pressed in this position ( approx. 5 seconds ) until you hear a signal tone on the instrument cluster. The control unit is initialized.

Cant believe that something so simple has corrected this problem i have lived with this for months carried out the 3 procedures and hey presto the steering column has full movement again. Thank you very much
