Pads for Track Days - Open events (1.5 hrs)

<_< All - I take delivery next week on an '05.

My first 05 event is at Mosport (I have decent time there on an heretical US-made car) and so know that is is unlikely the stock Pads will hold up.

Whats the skinny on Pad choices with the Iron rotors. I plan on keeping the car completely stock except pads - ( ie my money is brakes and tires and gas for seat time)

Any thoughts would be great. FYI - The event I do is fully open..ie I get 7 hours on track - no sessions or breaks except fuel.

I recommend Pagid RS-19 pads, model #2707 for the front and #2405 for the rear, Castrol SRF brake fluid and the Cup car lower brake ducts. Pedal feel and modulation are good with no fade at all. I get about 1000 track miles on a set of front pads and discs, rears last twice as long or more. Disc life is limited by surface cracking with some overall wear across the discs, but little or no grooving. Use Cup car discs as replacements, they are much cheaper than those from the dealers.

The Pagid RS-29's would be an option as well. Similar to the 19's but a bit more bite.

I'm on Pagid RS-29's now, they are very similar to the 19's. They are said to have a bit more bite, but in all honestly I couldn't tell the difference, I think both are extreemly good. Some say they squeal loudly and annoyingly, some say they don't. I've been lucky in that none of my sets of pads have squealed as yet. I'm finding I'm getting more like 3,000 miles to a set of front pads & rotors, but I'm a far more conservative tracker than mds.
