Hi everybody,

I have new navigation drive from crashed car: 996.642.122.03 EFR. I assume it is 16bit? If so, is it compatible with main unit? At least the cables fit.

I have heard that I need 2002-1 disk to update with drive and then could use the Opel maps.

This is old story for most of you. As a green member, I had hard time understanding what to do :(.

Is that disk image available somewhere and does it help at all? Or do I have to change main unit too.

I appreciate any info you have.

Thank you from rainy Finland!

The drive is compatible with the head unit, but I'm not sure the navigation drive will work without the security code. Have you tried it?

If it does work, drop me a PM, as I might be able to help you find the 2002-1 disk.

Hi Richard,

I do have the code for it.

I replaced the old unit and it gave some error code I do not remember now. I think it was something not cabable of reading disk or disk is upside down...

As far as I know, the units are compatible. I have heard of a few people who have fitted 16-bit navigation drives to early PCM1 units without issues. If you want to try the 2002-1 disk, drop me a PM.
