Whats in my oil?

2000 2.7 stick.  She has 109K.  I picked up seconded hand at 103K.  Had a indy do first 2 oil changes and today I'm doing my own.  I see white rubber/plastic pieces in the filter.  Any idea what this is??  Where is this coming from??

Probably gasket material, which was liberally applied and ended up inside motor.  If there is a lot, some of it may be blocking your oil pick up.  The only way to find out is to remove the oil pan, check and remove.

Hard plastic is likely your chain guides or variocam ramps. Pics?

When I think "plastic bits in the oil" variocam wear pads is also one of the first things I think of......but those are brown, and he states the rubber/plastic is white.
