Suddenly after 4 years of owning my 1999 2.5 - things have all started to go wrong at once...

I'm wondering if any of the issues could be linked at all?

Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

     - ABS Traction control lights on. (ABS & TC not working).

  • When car is hot (after 40miles +) It won't maintain a steady speed. It feels like it's running out of fuel and judders/misfires serverly – you have to back off or put more power on to stop this. (It accelerates fine though.)

Then, when at a stop it won't idle and the revs will be hunting and it stalls.

After the car has cooled down (ie next day) it still has the issue but only for a few

minutes then it is completely fine again.

     - Remote key fob not working.

     - Spoiler light illuminates after dropping below 50mph. Spoiler is down though when car has been stopped.

     - Air-con not working (Was re-gased and worked for a bit)

     - Possibly running rich. (high fuel consumption and black around/on exhaust tip)

Recent parts fitted. (symptoms presents before and after.)

  • Service (Oil, plugs, air and fuel filter)

  • Bosch MAF (same part number as previous one fitted)

  • Air/Oil separator

  • Drivers side radiator

  • Water pump and aux drive belt

  • Low temperature thermostat

  • Exhaust U bend pipes

  • Front 'coffin' arms

  • Brake pedal switch

  • Battery

You may want to clean the idle stabilizer. Also, you need to get the car scanned with Duramatric or other Porsche factory scanners to retrieve the actual error code(s) to give you more clues.

Thanks for the reply.

Haven't tried cleaning idle stabilizer yet - will give it a go. Tried a new fob battery but no improvement.

I had the codes read and are below. I'm thinking fuel pump, fuel pump relay or O2 sensor? (But it didn't give a sensor code?)

Many thanks.

A good start to getting into this is to have the car scanned with a Porsche specific scan tool (Durametric, PIWIS, PST II) and write down all of the codes, then let us know what you have found.
