Can someone help me with understanding the antenna booster(s) in my 2004 911tt? My radio has a nav unit it that is not recieving radio stations, and Porsche gave me a part number for a single booster that goes in the driver side A-piller for my VIN number, but I understand that the nav-unit radios take another booster. I bought one on ebay that is supposed to go with my car. Part number 996.667.124.00, which is a more "spuarish" rectangular black box, as compared to the one I'm use to seeing in my 2002 C2, which is white and more elongated and is located in the A-pillar.

  1. Is this the only booster in the car (some say this has two)?
  2. Where is this/are these located?

:welcome:

Perhaps you mean 996 647 124 00 which is the control unit for the two diversity (one on the left and one on the right) antennas?

That control module sits under the dash at the top right but under the dash.

Orange arrow is the control unit and green arrows are the two antennas.

Thanks.  Are the a-piller units identical?  It appears I purchased the controller.  Do you recommend that I change that first, then swap out the two antenna boosters if that does not solve the problem?

one more question if you would indulge me. The part numbers for the left and right boosters are 996 647 117 00 and 996 647 118 00.  Are these superceded by 997 647 117 00 and 997 647 118 00?

No they have not been superseded in my list (January 2015) - they are 996 numbers.

997 series cars would have PCM 3 and you have PCM 2.1 - they are very different.
